Mrs. Nowethu Balani
George Branch – Thembalethu
Mrs. Balani heard about The Kuyasa Fund from a family member. She is originally for the Eastern Cape in Lady Free. She came to George looking for a job after she divorced from her 1st husband whom she had 3 children with. She stayed with her aunt as a backyarder in an informal settlement called Emaxhegwazaneni. She stayed there for five years and worked at the farms before she got a job at a local bakery. It is at this informal settlement that she met her husband and got married and had 3 more children.
While staying at the informal settlement she registered her name for an RDP house and she qualified and a one roomed house was built for her. Because she and her
husband had a big family, they had dreams of extending their house and making it a home. Her husband is working at a local hospital as a cleaner but is not earning enough money to qualify for a bank loan. Because she had children to look after she started a small business, selling farm chicken and meat. of the people that the George Branch Manager approached with the opportunity to start earning money for all her hard work.
She also belongs to a Savings Group (Stokvel) as they are famously known and she would like to use her savings payout money to settle her current loan and take a bigger loan to put fencing around her yard. With her bubbly personality and energy there is nothing stopping her from reaching her goals. She also gives credit to her husband whom she says is very 2012 supportive, encouraging and God fearing man!!!
